| Death of a Friend... | | December 10,
2009 at 8:51:11   -   Ubuu | | | As of early
morning December 9th 2009, a coveted member of the Jedi Knight community
passed away. One of our very own, MaDaVentor passed away of a cancerous
brain tumor. He was loved, respected, and friends with many, if not all
in the community. Not only will he be remembered for his excellent work
as a level editor and texture artist, but he will remembered for his
jolly, energetic attitude. You can read more about him at the Massassi Temple.

 Rest in Peace Adam

| Team Epic Updates | | May 31, 2009 at
 20:33:25   -   Ubuu | | | Our very own
Team Epic is at it again, and JediKirby sends us these updates:

 Hi,
I'm a spokesperson for 'Team Epic,' A Jedi Knight: Dark Forces editing
group. You can check us out over at http://www.jedinights.com/e21tc.
Here?s a preview of some of our mods.
 Epic: Episode I Total
Conversion-

Yep, a total conversion. You know you've heard this
name in the past, and heard it fail in the past as well. We plan to get
over that obstacle. This mod will contain the entire story of Episode 1
from the council room, all of the way to the parade. We've got a brand
new saber system nearly finished, and we also plan on allowing the
player to pilot the Naboo Starfighter, the Gungan Submarine, and
Anikin?s Podracer.

 Epic: Podracing Multiplayer & Single
Player Partial Conversion-

A much smaller mod, as we're including
the choice of over 13 podracers with specific strengths and weaknesses
for each racer. We also plan on support for multiplayer bots, and SP
bots. The physics of the podracing is correctly tuned to fit the show.

 Epic:
 Starbattles Partial Conversion-

Once again, a smaller mod. This
time, you play through all of the multiple starbattles featured in the
movies. All of the way from the Naboo battle up to the last battle.
We?ve got it all.

Now, I know that that seems like a lot, but
each one plays off of each other. Both of the PC's cogging is embedded
in the TC's. We'd love your support, and any assistance we can gain from
 you.

I'd also like to point out a few very special people.
Snookey, for developing the wonderful website, Blokemon for being the
only texture artist we could get our hands on, and finally Decent Pilot
for being such an amazing cogger.

Also, you guys should stop off
at our mIRC channel at the server irc.holonet.org #Epic_Mods

| New Hosted Site! | | February 25,
2009 at 22:18:47   -   Jedi Bubba Fatt | | | I'm proud to
announce the addition of a new Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight mod to
JediNights.com -- Galactic
 Civil War.
 GCW,
 under the production of Tyler
"TIE" North is a class-based modification for LucasArts' original
Jedi Knight. The mod consists of 5 character-dependant classes for the
player to choose from. Each class will have their own unique skills,
attributes, and inventory. You might know of TIE's other works such as
the famous Guardians
of the Galaxy mod produced for JK last year.

 So without
hesitation, head on over to Galactic
 Civil War for more information.

| AotC: TC Updates | | February 19,
2009 at 21:13:30   -   Jedi Bubba Fatt | | | Massassi.net
has posted news regarding the AotC: TC. MP CODECheck
 here
 for more updates.Since
we started the mod, we have continued the Saga side of the project
mainly, it then came apparent that we should really also include some
mod for the MP game itself. It was at this time that I was given a
unique chance.
Many of you will be used to using ProMOD and have
enjoyed using it. Well, you will be sorry to hear that Artifax has
stopped developing the mod and has released his final version 3.1 to the
 public.
It was at this time that Artifax offered the source code to
myself to develop and expand into AOTC:TC, and so with this, ProMOD
will be part of the MP code that will be used in the TC.
 We will
support the mod as much as we can and [the] updated version and the
current version will be available from our site and the support will be
found on the forums.

 The Site AOTC:TC
 After bouncing
between servers for the last couple of months, and losing a lot of fan
base because [of so], we have now got a great deal on the server and are
able to do what ever we want with, it pretty much.
 I'm sorry that
you have all been messed about and that we haven't been able to keep you
updated, but now it's our home for the distant future and there will be
no downtime or anything else like that ever again.

 Files and
Maps
My friends at the TC having been working thier socks off
trying to get maps finished off and completed, with the server move
abouts its been difficult to get everyone back and find everyone again,
hopefuly everyone will re-find us and we will be releasing the Betas of
the maps sooner rather than later.

 Staff Positions
 Yep,
with the move, we have also found out that we have lost a few members
of staff - they have left due to workloads at school/college/uni - but
we will now have the chance to recruit more staff into the TC. The more
staff we get, the quicker we will get it all done. You can find out more
 by going to the site and reading the news as [well as] the links;
[they] are there about the staff positions.

 I hope that this will
bring most of you back and asking us about development etc. It would be
great to see some of the familiar faces back on the forums.

| German Jedi Outcast Community
 Now Open! | | June 21, 2002
at 14:36:06   -   Jedi Bubba Fatt | | | Andreas Peltret founder and owner
of Jedi2-Scene.de
sent word that his site is now open. Here you can find the latest and
up to date Jedi Outcast news, all in German! So be sure to head on
over and check out the awesome new German Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast site
 and community. |

| New Massassi LOTW Feature | | June 19, 2002
at 18:23:16   -   Jedi Bubba Fatt | | | Brian, former owner and founder of Massassi.net
posted the following: In chat yesterday evening, Pommy
suggested that Level of the Week be voted on by you, the visitors of the
site. So now, on each level information page, you will find a link that
allows you to vote for level of the week. You are allowed to vote once
per week. Levels can only be level of the week once. Thus, the site now
keeps track of which levels are level of the week (it starts now, so any
previous levels of the week are still valid). Once a few levels have
been featured in this new system, we will have a level of the week
archive page. Get your votes in now, they will be tallied every weekend
starting Saturday!Sounds like a great idea. So,
be sure to head on over and vote!
By the way: no, I don't work here. No, I'm not
coming back. I was bored and I thought it was a good suggestion, so I
asked blujay if he'd be interested.

 Update: You must be
registered in the level commenting/rating system (or the EC - it's the
same user database) to vote.

at 21:59:33   -   Ubuu | | | I thought
that since the Massassi
Temple for a while now has been the HQ for JK editting, it would be
important that I tell ya'll that they have recieved their first Jedi
Outcast Modification! Congradulations to lordvader, who you can safely
say has sumbitted
one of the first JO mods. I hope more will follow! |

| LEC Jedi Outcast Updates | | March 8, 2002
at 23:29:23   -   Ki-Adi-Mundi | | | The Official
Jedi Outcast Site has been updated with several new items. First of
 all, there are some new
N.R.I. reports for you to view. Second, though not specifically JO
related, it does fit under this news heading, there is a new Storm
Trooper Mod that can be used with Quake 3 Arena. Next is the
completely new Inventory
Section. The new page features detailed descriptions of various
items that we will be able to enteract with and use in the game.
Included is the small salamanderlike creature, the Ysalamari. Finally we
have the biggest and most important update, IMO anyway. Screensavers!
Save your screen with a choice of three different savers. The JKII
Symbol, the cloudy background featured on the website, and screenshots
straight from the game!
Still no news on anything going gold, but
that doesn't mean that it can't still happen on the rumored date of
tomorrow.

| Jedi Outcast Zone Rooms UP | | March 8, 2002
at 11:37:05   -   Ki-Adi-Mundi | | | Go
Here to see for yourself. I've read that people have already been
playing in the rooms, probably ms and ravenites testing it out. I'd
check it out myself, but since I'm on a school computer and don't want
to go through disabling the foolproof just for this, I'll leave it up to
 you.
I also read over at JediKnightII.Net
that there are rumors going around that JO is going gold tomorrow. So
I'm camping the spawn for LEC's
 news, but no word yet.

| Getting Started | | March 6, 2002
at 22:46:21   -   RiViN | | | Just to help
out a fellow in the JK Community, I agreed to endorse Zech's newly
opened website: Zechs-Express. This site is designed so that you
can purchase various items at a reduced price via PayPal. He already
features a good selection, including video games and accessories. I am
sure as the site begins to become more popular, it will evolve for the
better. Be sure to give the site a visit! |

| First Jedi Outcast Review | | March 5, 2002
at 23:37:18   -   Ki-Adi-Mundi | | | That I know
of anyway. Games
Radar has posted PC Gamer's review
of JO for our viewing pleasure. Good News: It got a 92%! Bad
News:

There are plenty of times when JK II resembles
Tomb Raider in terms of frustrating timed-jumping sequences, and I would
happily see a number of the 'match the symbols' tasks dispensed with
too. It's obviously a technique used to extend the lifespan of the game,
but I really don't believe them necessary; a criticism that could also
be directed at the couple of brief Starfighter-style arcade sequences
and the downright lazy pair of crate-filled levels and pitch black,
tortuous mazes.I don't like the sound of that. But I'm
sure there aren't too many of those. I don't think they will be
that much of a nusance anyway considering that we will finally be able
to play it. The review also goes on after that to talk about lack of
skins, which I noticed myself in the screenshots and I agree with also,
and how a wider variety or use of some of the TIE Pilots, Swamptrooper
or other less used skins could have helped out with greater immersion in
the SW Universe. It ends on a high note, and there are many more
positive points in the article than negative. View
 the Review. |

| Official Jedi Outcast
Developer Chat Transcript | | March 5, 2002
at 23:15:01   -   Ki-Adi-Mundi | | | GamesDomain
 has released the official chat
transcript from Friday, March 1st's Dev Chat. According to them, the
final game is due for release on March 28 in the UK and April 2 in the
US. There were about 79 questions asked with about one or two that
went unanswered. Check this one out:

 Be
sure to read the rest of the chat log right
 here.[Question]
 Baleine:
Seeing how some elaborate swordplay-oriented mods were released for
JK1, and probably knowing a lot of people are anticipating a responsive
and natural feeling attack/parry/etc system, can you safely say you took
that into account and do you believe you will please the fans who will
almost exclusively be playing with the lightsaber only and who are
probably expecting much (MUCH!) out of the lightsaber fighting system?

 [Answers]
Kevin S: Our aim with saberfighting was to
make it a big part of the game. We wanted the controls to be simple but
the effects and results to be very cool. That's what we got!

 Graham
F: That saber one is a tough question to answer quickly. You have a
large number of saber moves at your disposal, but MIke Gummelt, our
lead gameplay programmer has done a fantatic job at making sure that the
saber combat is fun, easy, and manageable, while at the same time being
 extremely cool.

Kenn H: There are multiple styles and
moves and acrobatics that can be performed with the saber, but it's a
very intuitive system to use. You guys will love it...
